3IF Ventures (Inclusive Insurance Investment Fund)

3IF Ventures is the first impact venture capital fund dedicated to Africa’s insurance start-up ecosystem. It provides equity capital from pre-seed to Series B.

The fund’s mission is to close Africa’s insurance protection gap, where over one billion people have no access to any form of cover. 3IF backs technology-enabled businesses that solve the 3A Challenge of Access, Awareness and Affordability across ODA-eligible African markets, spanning four thematic verticals: climate and disaster resilience, agriculture and rural livelihoods, digital health and wellbeing, and SMEs and asset protection. Capital is complemented by a Technical Assistance facility that provides investment readiness support for promising start-ups.

In June 2026, 3IF reached a USD 12 million First Close, anchored by FSD Africa Investments and ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company). The fund is domiciled in Mauritius is deploying and is working towards a USD 30 million final close.

By aligning financial returns with measurable impact, 3IF targets over 5.9 million new insurance policies, improved financial resilience for 3.5 million households and SMEs, and 1.7 million jobs created, sustained and retained, making protection accessible to Africa’s underserved client segments.
